What is Scouting?
Scouting is a global youth movement, shaping the futures of more than 57 million young people across 174 National Scout Organisations.
Robert Baden-Powell founded Scouting in the UK in 1907. Scouting has undergone many changes since its inception, and is proudly diverse and inclusive, including over 102,000 girl members in the UK as of 2018.

What do Scouts get up to?
In Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. And young people develop most when they ‘learn by doing,’ are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks, and think for themselves.
As a District, we support our groups and units to encourage local young people to do more, learn more, and be more. Each week, we support our members by providing the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed!
How do I get involved?
We provide an exciting programme of activities for young people aged 4 to 18. Interested? Find your local group here to kick-start your adventure.
Aged over 18? Volunteering will improve your wellbeing, equip you with skills for the future, and help you make a positive impact on the lives of young people.
